If you haven't read the whole story (or don't want to - and who can blame you?), it's a germanium transistor fuzz based on the legendary Fuzz Face.
There are so many clones and circuit mods out there, so I just cobbled up what I thought might be the best combination.
For controls, I have:
- Drive - input volume
- Volume - overall gain as on a Fuzz Face
- Heat - amount of distortion/fuzz
- Bite - contour/drive on first transistor
- Thin/Fat switch - thick fat tone as original Fuzz Face, or smaller capacitor for more cutting tone
- Goofy clear knob with red LED to indicate effect status.
Found a great picture on Ben Frank's "I Ate That!" food blog. He was gracious enough to let me use it as a basis for the decal. I manipulated his photo into what you see here. Check out his blog - great recipes!
So now the Crawfish Instruments Art Series Effects Pedals consists of the White Pepper and Red Pepper fuzzes. The Black Pepper will be coming soon too.
